ORANGE SLUSH
I make this refreshing orange drink as a "cool" snack for my family, but it's also a delightful addition to breakfast or brunch. Sometimes I add strawberries or use different juices. -Amy Daniels, Brodhead, Wisconsin

ORANGE SLUSH
Next summer when the weather gets too hot, I'm going to cool down with this! In the meantime I'm posting it here for safekeeping...I found it in the April May 2007 issue of Taste of Home magazine...UPDATE: I've since opted for a healthier approach to this recipe which includes the use of fat-free yogurt, 1% milk and removing the sugar entirely.

ORANGE SLUSH
This recipe was given to me by a dear friend who lives in Northern Indiana. She and her family always makes us feel so welcome when we come up for a visit and the food and drinks are always yummo! You can leave out the vodka and make this recipe kid friendly. This is a super drink for a slow Sunday afternoon, especially with a cookout. I pour this into a large thermal carafe and place it in a cooler when we go camping or spend a day at the lake.Bon appetit! --

TRIPLE ORANGE SLUSH
I always have these three ingredients on-hand, so when I found this in my recipe box, I whipped some up and decided to post the recipe. It's easy and fruity and an easy way to get in some Vitamin C. It's also great when you do have a cold because it's cool on a sore throat.

- In a medium saucepan over medium-high heat, stir together the water and sugar. Bring the mixture to a boil, and allow it to cook for about 5 minutes. Remove the saucepan from the heat.
- Blend the banana in a blender until liquified. In a 4 litre sized freezer-safe container, mix together the water/sugar, banana, juice of both lemons, frozen orange juice, pineapple juice and the vodka. Use a large wooden spoon and stir until the frozen orange juice is fully incorporated. Place the lid on the container and put the slush in the freezer. Freeze the slush for at least 8 hours, or overnight. I like to give the slush a bit of a stir every few hours.
- Use an ice cream scoop to fill a tall glass 3/4 full of frozen slush. Top off the glass with club soda, 7-up or gingerale. Add a maraschino cherry, and a little splash of the juice. Serve immediately!
