CHEESE & GARLIC CRACK BREAD RECIPE - (4.3/5)

Steps:
- Preheat the oven to 350°F. Melt butter and then mix in other Garlic Butter ingredients. Cut the bread on a diagonal into 1-inch diamonds, but do not cut all the way through the bread (just like you would cut a french stick for garlic bread). Use your fingers or a knife to pry open each crack and drizzle in a teaspoon of butter and stuff in a pinch of cheese. This might sound like a bit of an effort, but I promise you it is worth it. You don't need to be super neat, it's nice to have some of the butter drizzled over the crust. Wrap with foil and bake for 15 minutes until the cheese has mostly melted, then unwrap and bake for 5 minutes more to make the bread nice and crusty. Serve immediately. MAKE-AHEAD: To make-ahead, after wrapping with foil, wrap with cling wrap as well. Store in fridge overnight or freeze to store for longer. To cook, thaw, then follow recipe instructions to bake. NOTES: The denser the bread, the better the pieces will hold together when pulled off.
CHEESY CRACK BREAD
Yup... we see why this bread could be addicting. The cheese mixture is so good and creamy. This would top off an Italian meal perfectly. But, cut this into bite-sized pieces and they'd be a great appetizer. Yum!

- 1. In a large bowl, mix together the cheeses and the green onion. Stir in the mayo & sour cream. In a separate small bowl blend the butter and garlic until smooth. Add the butter mixture to the cheese mixture.
- 2. Preheat broiler. Lay crust side of bread down. Spread the cheese mixture over the bread. Place under the broiler until nicely browned, about 3 to 5 minutes.
- 3. Remove from broiler and let sit for 5 minutes (will be extremely HOT). Slice the bread with a bread knife and serve!
CHEESY BREADS
Of all the different appetizers I've made over the years, this one is always the first to go and it is SUPER easy to make. You can use either sweet or sour dough bread, both are tasty! I will usually assemble the Cheesy Breads the morning of the party on cookie sheets and cover with plastic wrap and keep in the fridge. When everyone has arrived at the party I just pop them in the oven and serve them piping hot! If you don't want the bread to be crunchy, broil them instead of baking them. I've tried them both ways and crunchy is better!

- Transfer the loaf to a shallow bowl and serve whole at the table for guests to tear apart with their fingers.

Steps:
- 1. Cut the loaf of bread lengthwise and lay out on a baking sheet, cut side up. The baking sheet can be foil-lined for easier clean up.
- 2. Mix all the other ingredients together. Depending on how soft your cream cheese is, your mixture may end up lumpy. This doesn't matter - will be just fine either way.
- 3. Spread the cream cheese mixture on the bread.
- 4. Place under the broiler for 2-3 minutes, or until the cheese and bubbling and the bread is just beginning to brown around the edges. Cut in slices and serve! (Best to make 2 batches, as the first will disappear quickly!)
CHEESY PULL-APART GARLIC BREAD
Studded with melty cheese and herbs, this garlic bread couldn't be easier! I like to buy a crusty round loaf of bread right from the bakery section of my grocery store. Be careful not to cut all the way through the loaf-you don't want the cheese to ooze out the bottom and stick to the pan.

- With a serrated bread knife, cut the bread on a diagonal into 1-inch diamonds, being careful not to slice all the way through. Use your fingers to pry open each crack and drizzle with 1 teaspoon of butter and a pinch of the shredded cheese. Don’t worry if you make a bit of a mess.
- Wrap the entire loaf in foil. To make ahead, place the foil wrapped bread in the fridge overnight or in the freezer for a month, thawing before baking. Place on a rimmed baking sheet, and bake for 15 minutes, or until the cheese has mostly melted. Carefully remove the foil and continue to bake for another 5 minutes, or until crusty. Serve immediately.

- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Spray a sheet of heavy-duty foil with non-stick cooking spray and set aside.
- Cut a cross-hatch pattern into the top of the bread by slicing ½-inch grid lines into the bread, stopping about ¼-inch from the bottom of the bread so that it stays together. Place the bread on the piece of foil that has been sprayed.
- Gently separate the bread with your fingers, then spoon the butter mixture in all of the seams, making sure it is evenly distributed among the whole loaf. Wrap the loaf up in the foil and place on a baking stone or directly on the oven rack and bake for 10 minutes.
