HOLLY BERRY COOKIES
What would Christmas be without overflowing tins of cookies? These festive filled cookies are the all time favorites of my family. Back when our children were small, we began baking them the day after Halloween and put them away in the freezer. -Audrey Thibodeau, Gilbert, Arizona

Steps:
- In a large bowl, combine the first 5 ingredients. Cut in butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. In a small bowl, beat egg and milk. Add to crumb mixture just until moistened. Cover and refrigerate for 1 hour or until dough is easy to handle. , On a lightly floured surface, roll out dough to 1/8-in. thickness. Cut with a 2-in. round cookie cutter. Place on ungreased baking sheets. Bake at 375° until edges are lightly browned, 8-10 minutes. Cool on wire racks. Spread jam on half of the cookies; top each with another cookie. , In a small bowl, combine the sugar, milk and vanilla until smooth; spread over cookies. Decorate with Red Hots before glaze is set. Let dry. Using a small new paintbrush and green food coloring, paint holly leaves on cookies.

CHRISTMAS HOLLY TREATS
Someone brought this in to work and I thought I could copy it without a recipe, and did! Have never worked with marshmallows before, WOW (suggestions appreciated)!! Work fast, it's hot! Hint 1: Buy generic corn flakes at the $1 store! Hint 2: If the "berries" don't stick on the "holly", put the cold holly in the microwave for 20 sec. (on waxed paper) and then add the berries.

Steps:
- Melt butter in a 3 quart saucepan on Low.
- Add the marshmallows and melt completely - keep stirring.
- Add the green food coloring - keep stirring.
- Lower heat to Warm.
- Add corn flakes and mix until they are all green.
- Drop by teaspoons onto waxed paper to create the "holly".
- While each holly is still warm, add 3 Red-Hots as the berries (see Hint 1 at top if berries don't stick).
- Repeat until all the holly is on the waxed paper.
- Let cool and remove from waxed paper. Put on a party plate and enjoy!

A spicy sandwich cookie filled with raspberry or blackberry jam and decorated with "holly".

- In a large bowl combine the flour, white sugar, ground cinnamon, baking powder and salt. Cut in the butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs. In a small bowl beat the egg and 1/4 cup of milk. Add this to the crumb mixture until the dough is moistened. Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour.
- Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
- On a lightly floured surface roll out the dough to 1/8 inch thick. Cut with a 2 inch round cookie cutter. Place on ungreased baking sheets.
- Bake at 375 degrees F (190 degrees C) for 8 to 10 minutes or until edges are lightly browned. Cool on wire racks. Once cool spread jam on half of the cookies then top each with another cookie.
- To Make Glaze: Combine the confectioners' sugar, 2 tablespoons milk and vanilla until smooth. Spread glaze over the cookie and decorate with red cinnamon candy before the glaze is set. Let dry. Using a small new paintbrush and green food coloring, paint holly leaves on cookies.
