- Mix baking mix, orange peel and orange juice till soft dough forms; beat vigorously 30 seconds.
- Turn dough onto surface generously dusted with baking mix; roll in baking mix to coat.

- Cut with 2 1/2 inch cutter dipped in mix.
- Place on ungreased cookie sheet.

- preheat the oven to 375f/190c. grease a large baking sheet.
- put the butter, sugar, and cream cheese in a large bowl and beat until light and fluffy. beat in the egg. sift in flour and baking soda and add the orange juice and 1 tsp of rind. mix well.
- drop about 30 rounded tablspoons of the batter onto the prepared baking sheet, making sure that they are well spaced. sprinkle with the raw brown sugar.
- bake in the oven for 10 minutes, or until the edges are lightly brown.
- let cool on a wire rack. decorate with the rest of the orange peel before serving.

- Move an oven rack to the enter position of your oven; preheat oven to 500 degrees F (260 degrees C). Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil.
- Combine self-rising flour and sugar in a mixing bowl; stir in cream until almost all the flour has been incorporated and dough is wet and sticky.
- Turn dough onto a well-floured work surface and gently press it into a rectangle about 1/2-inch thick. Use a bench scraper to lift up ends of dough and fold dough into thirds. Press dough again into a thick rectangle.
- Roll dough out into a 6x10-inch rectangle about 1/2-inch thick. Cut rounds from the dough using a 3-inch biscuit cutter. Gently press dough scraps together into a thick disk, roll out 1/2-inch thick, and cut 3 more biscuits. If any dough remains, lightly press it flat and cut one more biscuit from the remaining dough.
- Arrange biscuits on prepared baking sheet. Brush tops of biscuits generously with melted butter.
- Bake in the preheated oven until biscuits are golden brown, 10 to 12 minutes. Brush hot biscuits with melted butter again and let stand 2 to 3 minutes to cool slightly before serving.

- Add 1-2 teaspoons orange zest to milk, stir.
- Stir milk mixture into flour mixture with fork just until dough leaves sides of bowl, dough might be slightly sticky.

- Put 1/3 cup sugar and the zest in the bowl of an electric mixer fitted with the paddle attachment. Mix, scraping down sides of bowl as needed, until combined, about 3 minutes. Set aside.
- Whisk together flour, baking powder, salt, baking soda, and remaining tablespoon sugar in a medium bowl. Using a pastry blender or two knives, blend in butter until mixture resembles coarse meal. Add buttermilk; stir with a wooden spoon just until a sticky dough forms.
- Turn out dough onto a lightly floured work surface. Pat dough together, and press into an 8-by-11-by-1-inch rectangle. Sprinkle 2 tablespoons sugar mixture on top. Using a bench scraper or spatula to lift dough, fold rectangle into thirds (as you would a letter).
- Give dough a quarter turn. Roll out into an 8-by-11-by-1-inch rectangle. Sprinkle 2 tablespoons sugar mixture on top. Fold into thirds. Transfer dough to a lightly floured parchment-paper-lined baking sheet. Tightly cover with plastic wrap. Refrigerate 30 minutes.
- Return dough to floured work surface. Roll out again into an 8-by-11-by-1-inch rectangle. Sprinkle 2 tablespoons sugar mixture on top. Fold into thirds. Sprinkle remaining sugar mixture on top.
- Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Using a 2 1/2-inch biscuit or cookie cutter, cut rounds from dough (still folded); transfer to a baking sheet. Tightly cover with plastic wrap. Refrigerate 30 minutes.
- Bake until biscuits are just browned, 20 to 25 minutes. Transfer biscuits to a wire rack. Serve warm.
