ROSé SANGRIA
What's pink, pretty and packs a punch? This rosy riff on sangria, which is loaded with red and pink fruit for a festive, crowd-friendly treat. Be sure to plan ahead: The fruit needs to macerate for at least 4 hours to soak up the flavors and to soften. For the wine, choose a rosé that is neither too sweet nor too dry. It should taste good to you on its own, but since it will be mingling with juice, liquor and a whole lot of fruit, go with something inexpensive.

WHITE SANGRIA
This sangria takes five to 10 minutes to assemble in a large pitcher. Take the time to prepare it in the morning so the sangria has several hours to develop its fruity flavor. Pull it out when dinner is ready to serve that evening.

RACHEL'S ROSE SANGRIA
This is my twist on 'traditional' Sangria. It's the perfect drink for a girls 'Sex and the City' movie night or a spa party. It's very pretty and very easy to drink. Cheers!

- Chop the orange (leaving the skin on). Slice the strawberries. Add both to the bottom of a pitcher, sprinkle with sugar and stir. Let them stand for 20 minutes at room temperature.
- After 20 minutes, pour in the rosé wine and brandy. Add the fresh mint and lemon rounds. Stir and refrigerate 1 to 4 hours. (Don’t go beyond 4 hours or the fruit texture starts to degrade.)
- Pour the sangria into ice filled glasses and top with a splash of sparkling water (if desired). Add fruit to each glass, preferably on long skewers for easy snacking.
