CROCK POT STUFFED STEAK

This is a tried and true recipe for my family. I've been making this for many years. I got the recipe from my mother-in-law. You could also use flank steak in place of the round steak for this recipe.

Crock Pot Stuffed Steak image

Steps:

  • Pound the salt, garlic powder and black pepper into the steak.
  • Lay the stuffing on top of the steak and roll up jelly-roll style.
  • Place toothpicks in steak to hold in place.
  • Place the steak in the crock pot.
  • Mix the cream of mushroom soup, dry onion soup mix and water in bowl until smooth.
  • Pour over the steak in the crock pot.
  • Cook on low for about 6 hours.
  • Thicken the broth for gravy if you like.
  • Serve with mashed potatoes, if desired.
  • Slice the steak into serving pieces.

1 1/2-2 lbs round steaks (1 large piece, I also use bracciole if available, you want a large thin piece of meat that would be )
1 teaspoon salt (to taste)
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
2 cups prepared stuffing
1 (10 1/2 ounce) can cream of mushroom soup
1 (1 1/4 ounce) envelope dry onion soup mix
1 (10 1/2 ounce) can water (use soup can)

SAVORY CROCK POT SHREDDED BEEF

Oh my goodness! This beef is so delicious and the aroma while it is cooking is mouth watering. It isn't difficult to prepare- just combine dry rub ingredients and pop in the crock pot. There is no need to add water and the roast comes out so juicy, tender, and flavorful. It is so nice to have an all purpose meat recipe to use in enchiladas, burritos, tacos, casseroles, or in sandwiches. If you make sandwiches, you can leave the meat as is- it is tender and juicy or add your favorite barbeque sauce. I like to freeze it to keep on hand.

Steps:

  • Halve roast to make sure meat cooks all the way through.
  • Combine all seasonings in a small bowl and mix thoroughly; run all over roast.
  • Place roast in crock pot sprayed with nonstick cooking spray.
  • Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours or until meat is tender and cooked through.
  • Shred meat with a fork.

Steps:

  • 1. Mix flour with seasoning salt to your taste, then dredge steaks in flour and pound with meat hammer or edge of plate to incorporate flour into steaks.
  • 2. Heat olive oil in heavy skillet and brown the steaks to seal in juices.
  • 3. Place sliced onion in bottom of 5-6 qt slow cooker.
  • 4. Place browned steaks over the onions.
  • 5. Mix together remaining ingredients, EXCEPT potato starch flour, and pour the mixture over the meat.
  • 6. Cook on low heat for 7-8 hours or until meat is fork tender.
  • 7. Remove meat from slow cooker and set aside.
  • 8. Mix potato starch flour with about 1/4 cup water then slowly stir into the liquids in the slow cooker until thickened. Return meat to cooker to keep warm.
  • 9. I served this with with gravy poured over rice.

  • Trim fat from steak and ccut into serving size pieces.
  • Sprinkle with pepper, and place in a 5-6 quart slow cooker sprayed with vegetable cooking spray.

  • In a shallow bowl, mix the flour, salt, and pepper. Lightly coat the round steak pieces in the flour mixture.
  • Heat the oil in a skillet over medium heat, and saute the celery, onion, and carrots about 5 minutes, until tender. Remove from heat, and set aside. Mix in the round steak pieces, and cook until lightly browned.

  • In a Dutch oven, brown roast in oil. Remove and set aside. , In the drippings, saute onions and garlic until onions are tender. Return roast to Dutch oven.
