Who needs all the distractions offered by typical party mixes? It's the toasted, seasoned pretzels you really want! This recipe is simple, and particularly tasty when straight from the oven.

Steps:
- Preheat oven to 200 degrees F (95 degrees C).
- In a medium bowl, mix together vegetable oil, dry ranch dressing mix, garlic salt and cayenne pepper.
- Place pretzels in a medium baking dish. Coat with the vegetable oil mixture.
- Stirring occasionally, bake coated pretzels uncovered in the preheated oven 2 hours, or until toasted and crispy.

SPICED RUM PRETZELS
This is one of my favorite snacks. Perfect for game day or holiday munchies. Note: Whiskey or brandy can be substituted with equally delicious results!

Steps:
- Preheat oven to 250 degrees. Melt butter in a small saucepan or microwave. Whisk in rum, brown sugar, and spices.
- Pour butter mixture over pretzels in a very large bowl and toss gently to coat.
- Spread coated pretzels on a parchment-lined rimmed baking sheet. Bake for one hour, stirring every 15 minutes.
- Remove pretzels from oven and spread on paper towels or parchment to cool.
SPICED MIXED COCKTAIL NUTS WITH PRETZELS
Toss mixed nuts and mini pretzels with a spice blend of paprika, dry mustard and cinnamon.

- For the cocktail spice blend: Mix together the sugar, paprika, thyme, mustard, cinnamon, 1 1/2 teaspoons salt and 1/4 teaspoon pepper in a small bowl and set aside.
- For the nuts: Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Lightly oil a rimmed baking sheet.
- Put the egg white in a large bowl and whisk until frothy. Add the cashews, peanuts, pecans, walnuts and pretzels and toss to coat in the egg white. Add the spice blend and toss again to coat.
- Spread the nut mixture evenly on the prepared baking sheet and bake, stirring occasionally, until golden brown, 15 to 20 minutes. Let cool on the baking sheet, then transfer to a large bowl.

- 1. Put pretzels in a gallon zip lock bag. Mix cayenne pepper, lemon pepper, garlic powder, ranch & canola oil together...pour over pretzels in zip lock baggie. It's best if you can leave over night but a couple hours will work, too. I always bag them the night before & cook them the next morning.
- 2. Spread out on large baking sheet. Bake at 200 for 40 min.
- 3. .*** My husband likes a real kick to these, so I double the cayenne, lemon pepper, and garlic salt when mixing the spices...He LOVES them like that!!***

- Grease a 15x10x1-in. pan; set aside. , In a 2-qt. microwave-safe bowl, combine sugar and corn syrup. Microwave, uncovered, on high for 3 minutes; stir. Microwave 2-1/2 minutes longer. Stir in the cashews, pecans, butter, cinnamon, cayenne, salt and nutmeg. , Microwave, uncovered, on high for 2 minutes or until mixture turns a light amber color (mixture will be very hot). Simmer until sauce thickens and is reduced to 1 1/2 cups, about 5 minutes. Serve warm. (Can be prepared 2 days ahead. Cover and refrigerate. Bring to simmer before serving.)
