  • Fill a Dutch oven two-thirds full with water; bring to a boil. Trim ½ in. from broccoli rabe stems; discard any coarse or damaged leaves. Rinse broccoli rabe in cold water and cut into 2-in. pieces. Add to boiling water. Reduce heat; simmer, uncovered, until crisp-tender, 1-2 minutes.   • Whisk together vegetable oil, soy sauce, gochujang, honey, lime juice, soy sauce, and red pepper flakes in a bowl for the sauce.
  • Preheat an outdoor grill for low heat and lightly oil the grate.
  • Place broccoli steaks onto hot grill, cover, and cook for 2 minutes. Flip and cook for another 2 minutes.

  • Cut off and discard the tough ends of the broccoli rabe and cut the rest of into 2-inch pieces. Place the broccoli in a colander and rinse. Drain well. Heat the olive oil in a large pot. Add the garlic and cook over low heat, stirring occasionally, for 4 to 6 minutes, until golden brown. Remove the garlic with a slotted spoon, and set aside. Add the broccoli to the hot oil. Add the red pepper flakes, salt, and pepper and cook, covered, over medium to low heat for 5 to 10 minutes, turning occasionally with tongs, until the stalks are tender but still al dente.   • Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.
  • In a bowl, combine the lemon juice, soy sauce, basil, oil, vinegar, and lemon zest. Lay the tofu slices in a baking dish that can hold them in a single snug layer. Pour the marinade over the tofu. Bake for 30 minutes, or until the tofu is nearly dry and well browned.
  • To make the broccoli rabe, chop the tender stalks and greens into 2-inch pieces and soak them in a large basin of cold water.
  • In a heavy, wide saute pan over medium heat, warm the oil. Add the garlic and saute gently for 3 to 5 minutes, until golden. Add the red pepper flakes and tofu and saute for 1 minute. Scoop the greens from the water and add them to the pan. Raise the heat and turn the greens over in the oil with a pair of tongs. When the greens begin to simmer, reduce the heat to low and cover. Cook for 10 to 15 minutes, until the greens are tender.
  • Season with salt and pepper and serve drizzled with some of the liquor and garnished with the lemon wedges and garlic cloves.

  • Cut broccoli into bite sized pieces.
  • Boil in salted water for about 5 to 7 minutes (broccoli should just start to soften).
  • Rinse under COLD water (to stop the cooking).
  • Dry to remove any excess water.
  • In a large skillet, heat the oil until hot.
  • Add the garlic and pepper flakes.
  • Sauté for 1 minute.
  • Add the broccoli and "some" of the broth. (I say "some" as you don't want it soaking in it, you just want it to help steam and add flavor)
