Steps:

  • Place steak on hot griddle and top with onions.
  • When edges begin to brown, flip steak and chop with spatulas until steak is fully cooked (about 60 seconds).

  • Place on fresh Italian bun.
  • Add mayo, mustard, lettuce, tomatoe and banana peppers.

Oven-Baked Three Cheese Sandwich image

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F.
  • Place the cheese mixture and garlic in the bowl of a stand mixer fitted with the paddle attachment and mix to combine. Using your hands, roll the mixture into a ball.
  • Spread the butter on one side of each slice of bread.
  • Spread the cheese mixture on the unbuttered side of one of the slices of bread and place the other slice on top, butter-side up. Press the Parmesan into the butter.
  • Place the sandwich Parmesan-side up in a heated oven-safe nonstick pan and place the pan in the oven. Cook until the sandwich is browned on both sides, 6 to 7 minutes.

3 1/2-ounce mixture manchego, fontina and goat cheese, at room temperature
1/4 teaspoon grated garlic
1 teaspoon butter, at room temperature
2 slices rustic bread, cut on a long bias
1 ounce grated Parmesan

Steps:

  • Freeze steak 30 minutes, then slice very thinly against the grain with a serrated knife and season with salt and pepper. In a nonstick skillet, heat oil and cook onion until browned and beginning to soften. Transfer onion to a bowl and wipe skillet clean. Cook steak until cooked through and browned around edges. Gather meat into center of skillet and top with onion and several slices provolone. Cook until cheese melts. Serve on a toasted roll.

Steps:

  • Heat a cast-iron skillet or griddle over medium-high heat. When hot add the oil, onions and bell peppers, and cook, stirring, until caramelized, about 6 minutes. Add the garlic, salt, and pepper, and cook, stirring, for 30 seconds. Push off to 1 side of the griddle.
  • Add the meat to the hot pan and cook, stirring and breaking up with the back of 2 metal spatulas, until almost no longer pink, about 2 minutes. Mix in the Sauteed vegetables. Top with cheese slices and melt. Spoon the cheesy meat mixture into the warm buns and serve immediately with condiments of choice or Put the meat in the bun and dip the spatula in the cheese whiz and then wipe the spatula down the inside of the bread.

2 fresh Italian sandwich rolls or Kaiser buns, split in half crosswise
1 white onion, thinly sliced

Steps:

  • Spread the butter on one side of each bread slice. Heat a large skillet over medium heat. Put 2 bread slices in the skillet, buttered-side down. Layer a slice each of cheddar, Swiss and American cheese on each piece of bread, then cover with another bread slice, buttered-side up.
  • Cook, pressing the sandwiches occasionally with a spatula, until the cheese melts and the bread is golden, 3 to 4 minutes per side. Repeat to make 2 more sandwiches. Slice each sandwich diagonally in half, then return to the hot pan, cut-side down, to create a crust on the cheese.

  • In a large skillet, cook green peppers and onion in oil over medium-high heat until tender, 8-10 minutes. Without separating rolls, cut each package of rolls in half horizontally; arrange bottom halves in a greased 13x9-in. baking pan.   • Trim away and discard the long piece of fat running down the side of the steaks. Cut each steak in half and put on a baking tray, then transfer to the freezer and freeze for 40 mins.
  • Heat the oil in a heavy-based pan or casserole dish set over a medium heat. Add the onion and peppers along with a good pinch of salt and fry for 20 mins, or until the onions are golden and sticky. Add the vinegar and cook for a further 5 mins. Season to taste.
  • Using a sharp knife, slice the steak as thinly as possible and pile the slices into four portions. Heat a skillet over a high heat until almost smoking. Put one portion of the steak slices in the pan in a pile that's roughly the length of your rolls. Fry for 3 mins over a high heat until some of the steak is cooked through, with pink bits remaining. Pile a quarter of the onion mixture on top, as well as a quarter each of the cheese slices and the mozzarella. Continue to cook undisturbed over a medium heat for 5-10 mins until the meat is brown and crisp around the edge and the cheeses have melted. Split one of the rolls open and carefully scoop the meat and cheese mixture into it. Repeat with the remaining meat, onions, cheese and rolls.
