GRANDMA'S WALDORF SALAD
I've never found a recipe that used raisins in place of the traditional grapes or celery but it is how Grandma always made hers.

THE ORIGINAL WALDORF SALAD
"Millions who never visited the Waldorf owe him a debt," The New York Times wrote in 1950, upon Oscar Tschirky's death. Mr. Tschirky, a Swiss immigrant who became known as "Oscar of the Waldorf," is credited with creating this piece of Americana in 1893, a timeless dish whose popularity has spread far past the Waldorf's exclusive doors and into home kitchens. Over time, variations would include blue cheese, raisins and chopped walnuts, which can be added here alongside the celery and apples. But the original is an exercise in simplicity: four ingredients that have lived on for over a century.

GRANDMA'S WALDORF SALAD
I'm sure Grandma got this out of a recipe book but she adopted it as her own, either way it was always my favorite.

GRANDMA'S JELLO SALAD
When ever I serve this dish I get rave reviews. My grandma used to make this for our holiday meals; it was the only thing that NEVER had leftovers. When most people hear the ingredients. they are often skeptical until they try it. So far it has won over everyone that has tried it. It is so simple to make that you can have it any night. Prep time is time to combine items and cook time is time to chill. Servings are approx.

GRANDMA LIL'S WALDORF SALAD
Steps:
- Mix the apples and the mayonnaise together first, then add the other ingredients after that mixing in-between to get an even spread.
- If you're not going to immediately serve this salad, make sure to place back into the refrigerator, you do not want the mayo to separate! ick!
- For a little spice, you could add a teaspoon of curry powder to the mayo before mixing it with the apples. I don't use much mayo, I don't like a heavy Waldorf salad. Just crunchy and tasty! Best wishes!
