Steps:

  • In a bowl, combine the first six ingredients. add beef and mix well. Shape into eight meatballs. Brown in a Dutch oven over medium heat; drain and set meatballs aside. , In the same pan, cook sausage, onion and green pepper until vegetables are tender; drain. Add the tomatoes, tomato sauce, broth, tomato paste, garlic and seasonings. Add meatballs; stir gently. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat; cover and simmer for 2-3 hours. Serve over spaghetti; sprinkle with Parmesan cheese.

Hearty Meat Sauce image

Steps:

  • Heat the oil in a medium Dutch oven or pot over medium heat. Add the red pepper flakes and stir for 15 seconds. Add the onion and carrot and cook, stirring occasionally, until the onion is golden brown, 10 to 15 minutes. Stir in the garlic and cook until soft, about 1 minute. Stir in the tomato paste and cook until brick red, about 1 minute. Add the crushed tomatoes with their juices, the sugar, 1 teaspoon of salt and a few grinds of pepper. Bring to a simmer. Partially cover the pot and continue to simmer the sauce for 15 minutes, adjusting the heat as needed to maintain a simmer.
  • Meanwhile, heat a large nonstick skillet over medium-high heat. Add the beef, oregano, rosemary and thyme. Sprinkle with salt and pepper. Cook the meat, breaking up with a wooden spoon, until it browns, about 5 minutes. Stir the meat into the sauce and continue to simmer, partially covered, stirring occasionally, until thickened and the flavors have blended, about 1 hour. Add a splash of water if the sauce becomes too thick. Stir the Parmesan into the sauce and adjust the seasoning with additional salt and pepper. Serve over hot pasta with extra cheese for topping.

  • Put 8 cups of water, 1 14 oz can of Italian tomato sauce, 2 medium sized onions (chopped), 1 pound of mixed frozen vegetables into a pot.

Classic, Hearty Beef Stew image

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  • Place beef cubes into a large bowl. Season with kosher salt and black pepper. Add flour and paprika and toss until evenly coated.
  • Heat oil in an oven-safe Dutch oven over medium-high heat. Sear the beef cubes in batches until dark brown, about 4 minutes per side. Flip or stir gently with a wooden spoon until all edges are dark brown, 2 to 3 minutes more. Remove beef and set aside.
  • Add onions to the beef fat with more salt and pepper; cook and stir until they begin to caramelize, about 10 minutes. Add garlic and stir until aromatic and soft, about 30 seconds. Stir in tomato paste and cook until it turns brown and begins to caramelize and stick to the bottom of the pan. Deglaze with red wine, scraping up the flavorful browned bits on the bottom. MOM'S FAMOUS HEARTY SPAGHETTI SAUCE

My family and friends all love this incredibly easy recipe. It produces a thick, hearty sauce with a ton of flavor. Additional meat can be added (I add meatballs and a combination of sweet and spicy sausage as my budget affords). Enjoy! Note: The longer you allow the sauce to simmer, the better the flavor. If I'm home, I usually let the sauce simmer for the better part of the day on the stove or cook it overnight in a crock pot.

Mom's Famous Hearty Spaghetti Sauce image

Steps:

  • Combine all ingredients in large stock pot (or crock pot if cooking overnight).
  • Allow sauce to simmer on low heat until all vegetables are soft and meats are cooked through.
  • Sprinkle top with pepper (I use about 3/4 tbsp).
  • After a few hours, taste the sauce. If it is a little acidic, add the sugar and continue to simmer.
  • Serve with favorite pasta and Parmesan cheese.

Steps:

  • Mince onion and bell pepper.
  • Heat oil in medium pan.
  • Put minced onion and bell pepper into small bowl and add garlic and toss around.
  • sauté in oil on low until very lightly toasted.
  • Add ground beef and brown on medium.
  • Drain excess grease.
  • pour tomato sauce in medium bowl.
  • add onion powder, black pepper, garlic powder, and Italian seasoning and mix.
  • pour into pan with ground beef and simmer 7-10 minutes
  • serve over pasta for a delicious delight!

1 medium onion
1 1/2 lbs ground beef
2 normal sized cans tomato sauce (if you have paste add 1 can of water to thin out)
1 small bell pepper
2 tablespoons of minced garlic
1 teaspoon black pepper
2 table spoons onion powder
1 table spoon garlic powder (add more to taste)
1 teaspoon italian seasoning (Basil, Thyme, Rosemary, Oragano. can use seperatley together or not at all!)

Steps:

  • Cook pasta according to package directions. Meanwhile, in a Dutch oven, cook beef over medium heat until no longer pink, breaking it into crumbles. Add garlic; cook 1 minute longer. Drain. Stir in tomato puree, broth, Italian seasoning, Worcestershire sauce, salt and pepper. , Bring to a boil. Reduce heat; simmer, uncovered, until slightly thickened, 10-15 minutes. Add spinach; cook until wilted, 1-2 minutes. , Drain pasta; stir into beef mixture. Sprinkle with cheese; cover and cook until cheese is melted, 3-4 minutes. Freeze option: Freeze cooled pasta mixture in freezer containers. To use, partially thaw in refrigerator overnight. Heat through in a saucepan, stirring occasionally; add broth or water if necessary.
