CLASSIC GOULASH
Easy recipe for making a classic goulash. Can also be done in a slow cooker. Inspired by Paula Deen's Bobby's Goulash.

Steps:
- Cook and stir the ground beef in a large Dutch oven over medium-high heat, breaking the meat up as it cooks, until the meat is no longer pink and has started to brown, about 10 minutes. Skim off excess fat, and stir in the onions and garlic. Cook and stir the meat mixture until the onions are translucent, about 10 more minutes.
- Stir water, tomato sauce, diced tomatoes, soy sauce, Italian seasoning, bay leaves, and seasoned salt into the meat mixture and bring to a boil over medium heat. Reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer 20 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Stir macaroni into the mixture, cover, and simmer over low heat until the pasta is tender, about 25 minutes, stirring occasionally. Remove from heat, discard bay leaves, and serve.

Steps:
- Heat oil in large skillet, or soup pot. Brown beef, drain fat. Add onions, celery and garlic, cook until tender, about 5 minutes Add mushrooms, stewed tomatoes, chicken stock and tomato sauce. Add spices, mix well.
- Simmer uncovered over low heat 30-45 minutes.
- Preheat oven to 350.Boil water, cook pasta as directed on package, drain.
- Mix sauce with pasta, transfer to 9X13 baking dish, sprinkle with parmesan then mozza cheddar cheese blend. Bake 15-20 minutes, or until cheese is melted.

DEE'S BAKED GOULASH
This is a modified version of what my dad used to prepare when I was growing up....he "fondly" tagged it "Slum Gullum"! He was a very good cook.

Steps:
- Cook Macaroni to andante stage. Drain, and place in casserole dish. Prepare beef in saute pan, leaving chunky, bite sized portions, drain excess oils. Add chili powder and onion soup mix and blend well. Add tomatoes and tomato sauce. Poor mixture over macaroni, add 1 cup cheese and lightly mix into cooked macaroni. Top with remaining 1 cup cheese, bake at 350 for 30 minutes. Serve with side salad and Texas Toast.
